Iraqui for ever

1978.

B. is in Iraq to train engineers and technicians working in public television.
On a day off, he decides to go north of Basra to take photographs.
In a village, a commissioner of the Baath Party — Saddam Hussein’s party — points a rifle at B. and takes his film rolls.

On the way back, in the taxi, B. has a feeling that something is going to happen.
He positions himself in the middle of the back seat and grips the front bench.
Good idea!
The taxi skids on a patch of mud, rolls over once or twice, and stops upside down.

B. crawls out on all fours.

People rush over and turn the car back upright.

B. takes THE photo.

A truck driver takes him to the hospital.
